The healing power of family and community cannot be underestimated. In fact, having a supportive community and sense of connectedness and belonging are often cited as the most critical element in the recovery process and wellbeing. Supportive communities offer hope, acceptance, understanding, and a safe place to heal and grow.
Mother Bear CAN is dedicated to creating a supportive community where all families experiencing mental health challenges can recover and thrive. Here are just a few of the ways you can participate in our family recovery network.
Family Discussion Forums— Join our online community and share recovery education, resources and hope with other families facing mental health challenges. You may be inspired by a family from across the globe or a family living just a few miles away. As our international recovery network grows, you'll be able to do both!
Mother Bear Blogs—Our blogs address a variety of topics to support your family's recovery journey. They also provide a wonderful opportunity to share your experiences and insights with other families.
Family Recovery Stories—It's good to know that your family is not alone. It's even more empowering to learn that families facing similar challenges have found recovery and healing. Hope is real. These stories will help you find it.
Family Recovery Dens—We are in the process of developing guidelines and resources that will enable families to create local Mother Bear CAN groups that offer family recovery support and education. If you are interested in attending or starting a local Family Den, please contact us at info@motherbearcan.org.
Our Newsletter—Recovery resources, family stories, Mother Bear CAN news and more... inspiration for your inbox!
Get Involved—There are many ways you can help Mother Bear CAN bring hope to families facing mental health challenges. Helping other families is a great way to strengthen your family’s recovery process. You can also join us on Facebook and Twitter.
Share Your Story—Sharing your family's recovery experiences can be very healing—for you and for other families who have faced similar challenges. Our family stories light the way for hope, compassion and recovery.
